Thomasin McKenzie, a 17 year old actress who hails from New Zealand, was picked by critics as one of the standout stars of this year's Sundance Film Festival with her powerful performance in Leave No Trace.

Directed by Debra Granik - who has an eye for unearthing fresh talent after casting an unknown Jennifer Lawrence in her film Winter's Bone, which also premiered at Sundance, eight years ago - the drama sees McKenzie play a young girl who lives off-grid in the Oregon woods with her father, played by Ben Foster, who is suffering from post-traumatic stress. Vanity Fair branded her performance in the film 'star making'.
